Caring For Children Director
My name is Catherine Mahler and I have been in the field of early learning either as a volunteer, teacher or in leadership for over 20 years. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education with the addition of an Early Childhood Teaching License and a Director’s Certification. I have always loved children and find the field of early childhood education to be extremely important and often undervalued; it is one of my life goals to help change this.
I have two great kids that call me mom. My son Riley is a senior in college seeking a degree in Computer Sciences and my daughter Samantha is a senior in high school. Therefore, I am very close to having an empty nest. That is unless you also count my five furry and feathery babies. Let’s just say I don’t like the quiet.
I also love to travel and my favorite thing to do is to snorkel, but unfortunately, living in Minnesota has made this a less frequent pastime. I bought a house a few years ago and it really keeps me busy with do it myself projects, but I love that I am able to do so many of the projects and even have the tools to complete them. I also really enjoy gardening and always look forward to spring when my yard comes to life with a variety of irises and day lilies.
I am really excited to be here at Richfield United Methodist and look forward to the great things that are to come.
